Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:6-16
Most Christians say that they want to become more like Jesus. That includes having “the mind of Christ” or thinking the way Jesus thinks.
In 1 Corinthians 2:16 Paul asked, “‘For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him’ But we have the mind of Christ.” Paul knew that no one can fully understand God or the way God thinks. If that is true, how can we have “the mind of Christ”? Here is are some things each of us can do to begin to develop “the mind of Christ” in our own lives:
* Give your mind to Christ just as you gave Him your body and life when you accepted Him as your Savior (Mark 12:30).
* Recognize that we have a choice. We can choose to think like Jesus or we can choose not to think like Jesus (Colossians 3:2).
* Take control of your mind. Get rid of anything that keeps you from thinking like Jesus and replace those things with things, like memorized scripture verses, Bible study, and Christian music, that will fill your mind with Christ-like thoughts (1 Peter 1:13).
* Make a lifelong habit of thinking like Christ. Thinking like Christ isn’t a one-time event, it’s a way of life (Romans 12:2).
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I give You my mind. Help me to fill it with Christ-like thoughts. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
