Wednesday at the Well: Isaiah 40:31 - Do You Hate to Wait?

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Waiting to get a driver’s license.

Waiting to turn 18.

Waiting for a friend to call.

Waiting for God to answer a prayer.

Like it or not, waiting is part of life. Waiting is often very hard and it is seldom fun.

However, it is easier to wait if someone is waiting with you.

God is great company when you’re waiting. He is patient and understanding. While He waits with you, he shares his patience and understanding with you. That will help you to become more patient and understanding. That, in turn, will make it easier for you to wait. Isaiah 40:31 tells us about another benefit to waiting with God and waiting on God’s perfect timing saying, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Are you patient when you have to wait?

Do you understand the need for the other things that sometimes need to happen before you can get what you are waiting for?

Like the caterpillar in it’s chrysalis waits patiently knowing his day to fly is coming,

God often asks us to wait on his timing before he give us our wings.

Are you willing to wait on God?

Let’s take the words of Isaiah 40:31 and the words of Psalm 27:14, which says,“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” to heart. We can start doing that by doing an Inductive Bible Study of Isaiah 40;31 and possibly of Psalm 27:14, if time allows.

Let’s pray, then you can click on the logo, download the IBS study guide, and get started studying and learning how to wait patiently on the Lord.

Heavenly Father, help us to be willing to wait on You and Your perfect timing. Thank You for waiting with us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
