One Key

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Bible Reading: Luke 13:24

If you want to unlock the door of your house, which key should you use? A car key? A padlock key? A diary key?

Of course, only one key will open the front door of your house and that key is the key that was made to fit that lock.

Likewise, there is only one “key” that will fit the lock and open the door to heaven. The “key” of good works won’t open the door to heaven. The “key” of praying for others won’t unlock the door to heaven. The “key” of going to church won’t get you through the door of heaven. The “keys” of being nice to others, reading the Bible, listening to Christian music, and memorizing scripture won’t unlock the door of heaven.

Luke 13:24 says, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” That means that there is only one way to heaven, one “key” that unlocks the door into heaven. That one and only “key” that unlocks the door to heaven is the “key” of believing the Jesus is God. The person who uses this “key” by admitting he has sinned and asking God to forgive him will be able to open the door of heaven, enter, and live in heaven forever.

Are you using the right “key” to open the door to heaven? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe You are the only key to heaven. Forgive my sin and open the door of heaven to me so that I will be able to enter. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
