Are You Prepared?

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Bible Reading: Psalm 90:1-2

The psalmist wrote in today’s scripture that God has existed since before the beginning of time as we know it and will live on into eternity, long after time – or life – as

we know it here on earth ceases to be. Here’s how the psalmist said it: “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

In view of the length of the existence of God, the length of our lifetime here on earth is but a drop in the bucket.

Thankfully, the short life that each one of us lives here on earth isn’t the end of our existence. God plans for each one of us to live forever. While we are living here in this life on earth, God expects us to choose where we plan to spend our eternal life, and we are given two choices: heaven or hell. To choose Jesus is to choose heaven. To not choose Jesus or to not choose at all it to choose hell. It’s up to us to prepare now for that eternal life that is to come.

What are you doing to prepare for your eternal life?

If you had only one week left before your life on earth ended and your eternal life began, how would you spend your time?

“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:44

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose heaven – and I choose You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
