Bible Reading: John 14:6
Do you think you are good enough to go to heaven?
You go to church.
You tell people about Jesus every chance you get.
You volunteer to serve others as often as possible.
You pray every day…or at least every week.
You’ve memorized The Lord’s Prayer and the 23rd Psalm.
You read your Bible…occasionally.
You try to do at least one good deed every day.
Do you think that you have “done enough” to get into heaven?
How do you know when you have done enough?
Jesus says that we can never do enough. We can never go to church enough, witness enough, volunteer to serve enough, pray enough, memorize scripture enough, read the Bible enough, nor do enough good deeds to be “good enough” to go to heaven. NEVER!
Instead, Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That means that the only way to be sure that you will go to heaven is to recognize that Jesus is the only way to get to heaven.
Stop trying to do enough to be good enough. Instead, believe that Jesus is enough to get you into heaven.
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.” John 3:36
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that I can never do enough to get to heaven and I believe that Jesus’ death and resurrection is enough to get me to heaven. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
