We Will Win in the End

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

In January 1992, the Buffalo Bills football team was losing to the Houston Oilers 38 to 3 with only minutes left in the game. The Bills could have given up. They could have

believed that the Oilers had already won. They could have thought, “What’s the use?” They could have simply quit. They didn’t. The Bills came back to win that game 41-38 in what has become known as one of the greatest come-from-behind wins in NFL history.

We often feel like giving up on sharing our faith in Jesus. We feel like no one is listening, no one cares, no one wants to know Jesus – or even know about Jesus. We think, “What’s the use?” We want to quit.

Like the Buffalo Bills we need to keep forging ahead. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” Although it may seem like we’re losing to the opposition (Satan) we need to keep doing what God wants us to do because he has promised that we will win in the end!

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m glad that I can know that I’m on the winning side and I can’t wait to see the final score! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
