Bible Reading: John 14:15-21
“I pledge allegiance to the Lamb, with all my strength, with all I am, I seek to honor his commands, I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.” That quote is from a song sung by

Ray Boltz.
That song has a powerful message about allegiance.
What does allegiance mean? Allegiance means committing yourself 100% to someone. It means always believing in that person. It means never abandoning that person. Allegiance is perfect loyalty.
Many people are loyal to their favorite sports team. They cheer for that team even when the team is losing.
It is important to show our loyalty to our country. That is why we stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
It is even more important to pledge our allegiance to God. One way we do this is by bending our knees, bowing before God, confessing our sin, and claiming Jesus as our Lord,
Savior, God, and King.
In Ray Boltz’s song, Ray is promising his allegiance to the Lamb. Who is the Lamb? Jesus! Ray is saying that no matter what happens he will always trust and obey God.
I hope you have pledged your allegiance to God, too. Why? God has pledged His allegiance to you. Jesus promised, “You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time” (Matthew 28:20). When we ask Jesus into our hearts, He will be with us forever. He will never leave us or abandon us.
If you haven’t pledged your allegiance to God you can do that while we pray.
Heavenly Father, I pledge allegiance to You! I will always trust and obey You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
