Wednesday at the Well: Romans 12:1 & 2 - Inductive Bible Study

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Worship is spending time with God, praising His greatness, thanking Him for His generosity, and listening to his wisdom. Romans 12:1 describes worship like this:

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.” Going to church and tithing are two of the things people do most often to worship God. Those are two ways to sacrifice our lives for God.

Are you looking for a special way to worship God? Here are some other things you can do to offer your life as a sacrifice of praise to God:

* Have a private “mini retreat.” Take your Bible and a notebook to your favorite quiet spot and enjoy some private time with God.

* Start a prayer journal. Write down the things you talk to God about and the ways He answers your prayers.

* Write a psalm. A psalm is a song that thanks God, tells Him about why you are happy or sad, or tells God how wonderful He is.

* Volunteer to serve other people in some way, maybe in a nursing home or the church

nursery.

* Sing a few of your favorite choruses while you go about your day.

* Make a list of all the things you find great about God. Read your list to Him.

* Write God a letter telling Him you love Him and why.

* Write a prayer.

* Tell a friend about Jesus.

* Draw a picture of something you are thankful for or something that God created that amazes you.

Now that your creative juices are flowing, see what you can think of to add to this list.

Let’s pray together then you can click on the Inductive Bible Study image and get started on your own study of Romans 12:1 & 2.

Heavenly Father, help me to always take time to worship You and enjoy being with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
