Wednesday at the Well: Proverbs 4 - Inductive Bible Study

Proverbs 4:23 warns us to, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” That means we should be careful about what we choose to allow to linger in our minds.

We need to work hard to obey Paul's instructions in Philippians 4:8, " ...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things."

Why is that important?

  1. What you think is what you are.

  2. What you think is what you’ll do.

  3. What you think either honors God or dishonors God.

  4. What you think either honors yourself or dishonors yourself.

  5. What you think determines your eternal destination.

If you think Jesus was just a good man, you face an eternity away from God.

If you think that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross then rose to life again and is now in heaven with God the Father, you face eternity in heaven with him.

Your thoughts do count.

Oh...one more thing...always remember that your thoughts – every single one of them – are known by God.
