Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:25
When is a person old enough to date? Drink alcohol? Have sex? Get married?
Ask ten people and you will likely get ten different answers. Whose answer is right?
Are you trying to follow the example of a particular person, hoping that they are wise enough to know the right answers? Are you hoping that you are making the right decisions because you are basing them on the example of a person that you think has more wisdom and more maturity than you do?
Today’s verse reminds us that know matter how “wise” a person seems to be in our human eyes, his “wisdom” is foolishness when compared to the wisdom of God. This verse says, “For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.”
If you really want to know when it is the right time to take a certain action, go to God for advice and direction. He is the only one with all of the right answers.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to make the right decisions at the right time. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
