Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 8:6
1 Corinthians 8:6 tells us, “Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all
things came and through whom we live.”
Take a few minutes to read and compare the following verses and you will see clearly that Jesus really did create the world.
Matthew 28:19 explains that God is three persons in one, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 23:63, 64 says that Jesus is one of the three persons of God, God’s Son – thus Jesus is God.
Genesis 1:1 teaches that God created the world.
John 1:3 tells us that Jesus was present when the world was created.
Combine those verses with Colossians 1:16, 17 which says that without Jesus nothing was created, and we can know that Jesus created the world.
While we can’t open the Bible and find a verse that says, “Jesus created the earth,” in exactly those words, the Bible does clearly teach that Jesus created the world – and we can trust God’s Word. After all, God was there!
“For by him [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:16 &17
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Creator, thank You for all of Your beautiful creations and thank You, Jesus, for creating me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
