Bible Reading: Judges 3:7
Judges 3:7 says, “The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD…” What was the evil that the Israelites did? We only have to go as far as the end of the verse to find out: “…they

forgot the LORD their God…” The Israelites forgot who had brought them out of Egypt. They forgot who it was who took care of them. They forgot who it was who protected them. They forgot who had given them the land in which they were living. The Israelites forgot who it was that they were to worship and serve. As a result, their loyalty, love, and attention were all going elsewhere. They were worshipping and serving other things.
Have you forgotten God? Have you forgotten who takes care of you and protects you? Have you forgotten who it is that you are to worship and serve? Is your loyalty, love, and affection being focused on some other thing besides God?
“Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.” Deuteronomy 8:11
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m sorry that I forgot you and pushed you aside. Come back and be the focus of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
