Tell It to Jesus

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:12

Does it seem that although your friends listen to your struggles and heartaches, they can’t seem to understand how you feel or know what to do about them?

There is someone who will always listen and always understand – God. Ephesians 3:12 says, “In him [Jesus] and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” When we ask God to forgive us and welcome Jesus into our lives, Jesus clears the way for us to be able to go to God and tell Him everything, knowing that God will always listen.

God not only listens, he understands. He not only understands, he is able to do something about our struggles because he has cleared the way for us to take them straight to God the Father who we can trust to give us whatever we need to cope with them.

This song by Jeremiah E. Rankin says it well:

Tell it to Jesus

Are you weary, are you heavy-hearted?

Tell it to Jesus; tell it to Jesus.

Are you grieving over joys departed?

Tell it to Jesus alone.

Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden?

Tell it to Jesus; tell it to Jesus.

Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden?

Tell it to Jesus alone.

Do you fear the gath’ring clouds of sorrow?

Tell it to Jesus; tell it to Jesus.

Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow?

Tell it to Jesus alone.

Are you troubled at the tho’t of dying?

Tell it to Jesus; tell it to Jesus.

For Christ’s coming kingdom are you sighing?

Tell it to Jesus alone.

Tell it to Jesus; tell it to Jesus.

He is a Friend – that’s well-known!

You’ve no other such a friend or brother.

Tell it to Jesus alone.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” 1 John 5:14 & 15

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being there for me. Thank You for always listening to my needs. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
