The Unbeatable Promisekeeper

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Bible Reading: Matthew 28:5, 6

Nothing can keep Jesus from doing everything that he has promised that he would do.

People can’t stop him.

Lack of time can’t stop him.

Satan can’t stop him.

Not even death could stop him. It tried. In Matthew 28:5 & 6 an angel told the women who came to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” Satan thought that he had won when Jesus died on the cross and was laid in the tomb. Satan was wrong.

Jesus’ promise to defeat death and provide a way for us to escape eternal death couldn’t be stopped. Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb. Jesus didn’t stay dead. Jesus rose to life and left the tomb to go to heaven to prepare for our arrival there.

Jesus has promised to give us everything we need. He has promised to fill us with peace and joy. Jesus has promised to always love us and to always be there for us. Nothing – not even death – can stop him from keeping his promises to us.

Jesus has kept his promises and will continue to keep them. It’s up to us to believe that and live in a way that shows that we believe that Jesus is the unbeatable promise keeper.

“Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is the faithful God who for a thousand generations keeps his promises and constantly loves those who love him and who obey his commands.” Deuteronomy 7:9 (TLB)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m so glad that you are unbeatable! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
