Not every witness is truthful and reliable. Just ask any policeman. Dishonesty – lying – is one reason it can be so difficult to prove a case against an alleged criminal. Sometimes
errors in a person’s testimony are accidental, but more often they are deliberate lies, fabricated to cloud the truth, protect the guilty, or make the work of investigators more difficult.
However, there is one witness whose testimony is always true, always accurate, always impeccable. Who is this “Faithful Witness”?
Revelation 1:5 gives us the answer saying, “Jesus Christ…the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,” Thenk in Revelation 3:14 we read, “…These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation.”
We can always trust Jesus. When Jesus says he died in our place, we can take His word. When Jesus says that if we believe in Him and tell Him we’re sorry for our sins we’ll have eternal life, you can bank on it!
Jesus, The Faithful Witness, His word is as good as gold – even better!
Let’ pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for the faithful witness, Jesus. I know I can trust Him with every detail of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
