Bible Reading: Psalm 47:1
When you think of a person who is a really serious Christian, do you picture someone sitting silently in a dim sanctuary with his hands folded and his head bowed?
Maybe you think of someone sitting for hours reading the Bible.
God never intended for us to sit in silence. He never intended Christianity to be boring or stuffy. God wants us to enjoy worshipping and serving him. Psalms 47:1 says, “Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” Even the psalmist who wrote today’s scripture encouraged the people to clap and shout with joy to God.
Can you think of some ways to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” (Psalm 100:1)?
Why not break the silence? Get up right now and show God just how much you enjoy serving him.
“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.” Psalm 95:1
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m so glad that I can sing and shout praise to You! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
