Bible Reading: Psalm 51:10
Are you nervous or uncomfortable thinking about trying to find just the right words to talk to God about your personal purity? Are you looking for a way to tell God that you
want his help to remain pure? Have you failed in the area of purity in the past?
Take a deep breath and talk to God anyway.
Remember, God already knows what you are thinking – you can’t tell him anything that he doesn’t already know. Even if you’ve failed in the past in the area of purity, God can help you to remain pure from now on. He’ll love you and stick with you no matter what.
In fact, God wants to help you. Don’t be afraid to “lay it on the line” with God. Go to God and make the request that David made in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” God will honor and answer that prayer. He is able to do the impossible, even create something pure from something impure.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Prayer: Heavenly Father, create a clean, pure heart in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
