Bible Reading: Romans 10:13
“My mom is a Christian. My dad is a Christian. My grandparents are Christians. All of my aunts and uncles are Christians. Even my brothers and sisters are Christians. I
must be a Christian, too.”
Have you ever heard someone say something like that? Have you ever said something like that?
Sadly, that belief isn’t true. Just because everyone in your family has accepted Christ as Savior doesn’t automatically make you a Christian. Your family’s being saved won’t get you into heaven.
Each one of those people had to make a personal choice: accept Jesus or reject Jesus. None of them could rely on you or anyone else to make that choice for them.
You can’t rely on the choice that someone else made. You need to make the choice to admit that you've sinned and let God down and that you want forgiveness through Jesus for yourself. Romans 10:13 makes that clear: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” The word everyone indicates an individual. We must each, individually, choose to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. No one else can do it for us.
Here’s your chance.
Will you accept Jesus now – or will you reject him?
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive my sin. I want to let Jesus into my life right now. In Jesus' name. Amen.
