A Fresh Start

Bible Reading: Romans 6:6-7

Do you think that living a life that would please God would be a great way to live? Do you think that a living a life that is characterized by the Fruit of the Spirit described in

Galatians 5:22 and 23, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control,” would be wonderful? Do you think that it is too late for you to start living that kind of life?

It is never too late with God. Romans 6:6 & 7 tells us that through Jesus “…our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin --because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.” God can rejuvenate you. God can take something old and make it new. God can take something ugly and make it beautiful. God can take something dead and make it alive again. God can free you from your old way of thinking and acting and give you a fresh start with a new way of thinking and acting.

How are those things possible? The Bible tells us in Luke 1:37 that

“…nothing is impossible with God.” All you have to do is ask God to give you a fresh start and believe that he’ll do it – and He will.

“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22 - 24

Prayer: Heavenly Father, up until now my life has been a mess. Please give me a fresh start living for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
