Top Priority

Bible Reading: John 1:40-42

In John 1:40-42 we read, “Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his

brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.”

Andrew must have really cared about his brother, Simon. When he found something valuable the first person he wanted to share with was his brother. He didn’t even wait until he saw Simon at the dinner table that evening. Andrew rushed to find Simon “first thing” after he learned that Jesus was the Messiah, the promised Savior, sent by God. Telling his brother about Jesus was Andrew’s top priority.

If you have asked Jesus to be your Savior and forgive your sins, you have found something valuable, too. Have you shared that treasure with your brothers and sisters? Is telling your friends and family about Jesus your top priority?

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Prayer: Heavenly Father, soften the hearts of all of the brothers and sisters everywhere so that they will be willing and able to believe in Jesus just as I have. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
