Lift Your Voice

Bible Reading: Psalm 66:19

Psalm 66:19 says, “But God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.” Our voice is a wonderful gift from God. Unlike animals that are capable of making only sounds, we

have the ability to use our voices in a way that allows us to communicate not only with other people but also with God himself.

How can we best use our voices to communicate with God and other people? We can use our voices –

* To tell God our troubles (Psalm 27:7).

* To tell God our complaints (Psalm 55:17).

* To call God when we need help (Psalm 64:1).

* To praise God (Psalm 47:1).

* To encourage other people (I Thessalonians 5:11).

* To warn other people of danger or trouble (I Thessalonians 5:14).

* To ask God for forgiveness (Psalm 130:2).

* To say, “No,” to sin (Titus 2:12).

* To teach other people about Jesus (Colossians 3:16).

* To confess that Jesus is God (I Thessalonians 5:23).

Why not take Psalm 66:1 to heart and, “Shout with joy to God, all the earth!” today?

“My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you – I, whom you have redeemed.” Psalm 71:23

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a voice that I can use to sing Your praises! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
