Jesus Knows How You Feel

Bible Reading: Hebrews 2:14, 15, 18

No other person on earth can know exactly what you are thinking or how you are feeling.

However, Jesus knows.

Jesus has experienced everything that you have ever experienced or ever will experience. Hebrews 2:14 says, “…he [Jesus] too shared in their humanity.” When Jesus lived on earth, He had to go through all of the same thoughts, feelings, temptations, worries, and desires that you are dealing with. Jesus had to look those things straight in the eye and then hand them all to God his Father so that he could get through them without ever making a wrong choice, reacting the wrong way, or saying the wrong words.

Because Jesus faced all of the same difficulties that you face and never once got off on the wrong track, he was able to keep God’s laws perfectly. Then he was punished for sin he never committed -- our sin.

He was punished so that we wouldn’t have to be punished for not being able to face all of those struggles perfectly.

That was his perfect gift to us. If we accept this perfect gift, Jesus has promised to be there with us to give us the strength to stand up to all of life’s difficulties.

Won’t you accept his gift? It’s free.

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.” Hebrews 4:14 & 15

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to experience human life and prepare the gift of forgiveness and salvation for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
