Bible Reading: Job 28:24
Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t just heal everyone who is sick or injured?
That is a hard thing for all of us to understand. It helps if we remember that God
sees the big picture. Job 28:24 says, “For he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.”
Imagine that you are doing a jigsaw puzzle. If someone walks up to the table where you are working and looks at only one piece of the puzzle, it will be very hard for that person to imagine what the finished picture will look like. That person will have to trust that you know how to put the pieces together in the right places to complete the picture.
You, on the other hand, will have a clear idea of what the finished puzzle will look like because you will have seen the picture on the box.
God knows the best way to handle each person’s illness or injury. God has seen the picture on the box. We have to trust that he knows how to put all of the pieces of each of our lives together in the right order so that, in the end, we will be able to see the picture on the box, too.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be patient as You put together the “picture on the box” of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
