Bible Reading: John 17:20-26
Did you know that Jesus prayed just for you? He did. While Jesus was praying for his disciples he also prayed for you and me. This prayer is recorded in today’s Bible passage
and began with these words: “‘My prayer is not for them [the disciples] alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me...’”
What kind of things did Jesus ask God to do for you?
* He asked God to protect you.
* He asked God to fill you with joy.
* He asked God to set you apart for God’s work.
* He asked God to make you one with God.
* He asked God to help others see God through you.
Isn’t it amazing that thousands of years before you were born Jesus was already planning your future and looking out for you? I encourage you to read the rest of the prayer that Jesus prayed for you.
“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: ‘Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.’” John 17:1
