Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 15:29
1 Samuel 15:29 describes God like this: “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind.”
God doesn’t lie. God can’t lie. We know that because:
1. God does no wrong, and lying is wrong (Deuteronomy 32:4).
God is perfect and lying is imperfection (II Sam. 22:31).
God is consistent and lying is inconsistency (James 1:17).
God always acts out of love and lying is an act of selfishness (Psalm 25:10).
God is always faithful and lying lets others down (Psalm 33:4).
God speaks only justly and fairly and lying is innately unfair (Daniel 4:37).
God’s way is the way of truth and lying is deceit (Psalm 86:11).
God is reliable and lying is unreliable (John 8:26).
God’s word is flawless and lying is absolutely flawed (Psalm 18:30).
God’s very word is truth and truth and lies can’t exist together (John 17:17).
Since God’s word can be trusted so completely, shouldn’t you believe him when he says he loves you and sent his Son, Jesus to die for you?
God has given his word to save you from your sin if you will just ask. Why not take him at his word and accept his offer?
“God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe everything you say. I accept the salvation you are offering to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
