Bible Reading: Luke 18:16
Do you picture Jesus as the straight-faced, always serious type?
Jesus was anything but stone-faced.
In Luke 18:16 we read, “But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’” Jesus held little kids on his lap – you can’t hold a child and keep a straight face. Kids will either make you smile remembering your own childhood or laugh at their innocent antics and remarks.
Jesus must have witnessed some of the innocent, unknowing remarks and actions of kids. He must have smiled or even laughed at them.
The next time you laugh at a little kid’s innocent remarks, imagine Jesus sitting beside his Father in heaven having a good laugh right along with you.
“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.” Job 8:21
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m glad you have a sense of humor. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
