Legacy

Bible Reading: Luke 21:1-4

In today’s Bible verses we read about a woman who was completely devoted to God. She willingly served Him. She willing gave Him all she had, right down to her last penny.

In Luke 21:4 said, “All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

This widow woman’s love and sacrificial devotion to God and the things of God pleased Jesus. She may have had very little in material possessions, but she left a large legacy – her outstanding devotion for God and her willingness to give God all she had and trust Him to provide for her.

Does God have control of your home life? Is he in charge of your schoolday or workday? Is he deciding how you spend your free time? Have you given God all you have – or are you holding something back?

God doesn’t want to be a hobby that you pull down off the shelf and dust every Sunday. God wants to be right in the middle of your life every moment of every day.

God doesn’t want to get the leftovers of your time, energy, and money. He wants the best. He wants to be first. He expects to be first. Are you giving God part of your life – or all of your life? What kind of legacy will you leave?

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12:1

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I truly want you to be Lord of my life – all of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
