Candy Cane (7)

Bible Reading: Psalm 51:5-10

Today will be our last talk on the Christmas symbols found in the candy cane.

Lay two candy canes on the table in front of you with the bottom tips touching and

the short curved ends touching. What shape does that make? A heart! This is the most wonderful symbol of all. When we believe that Jesus was born as a human baby, died on the cross, and tell Him we are sorry for all our sins, Jesus will come to live in our hearts and we will be saved, just as it says in Romans 10:9, “If you openly say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved.” That means that we will not be punished for our sins. We will have God’s Holy Spirit in our hearts to help us live God’s way. We will go to heaven to live with God forever! That is God’s gift to each of us.

Today, enjoy one more candy cane. While you eat it, look at the heart you made from the two candy canes on your table. Thank God for the salvation He gave you through Jesus.

“Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.” Romans 10:10

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for saving me. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to live in my heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
