Bible Reading: James 1:12-18
Today and tomorrow we will talk about the things we should be thankful for. Let’s start by talking about being thankful for the good things in our lives.
It is easy to thank God for the good things in our lives.
I have many, many blessings. I have a husband and daughter I love. They both work daily to grow closer to the Lord. I have the perfect job. I am the administrative assistant for my church. I have the ability to write. I use this talent to write devotions for Deaf Missions.
James 1:17a says, “Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him.” I know that I all of the good things in my life are gifts from God. God will give you good things in your life, too. James 1:12 says, “Great blessings belong to those who are tempted and remain faithful! After they have proved their faith, God will give them the reward of eternal life. God promised this to all people who love him.” If you and I faithfully serve God, He has promised to give us good things in our lives.
Take time this Thanksgiving to thank God for all of the good things He has given to you.
“You are my Lord. Every good thing I have comes from you.” Psalm 16:2b
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the good things. You are wonderful. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
