God Is in Control

Bible Reading: Psalm 33:6-22

From the number of hairs on your head to the number of feathers on a sparrow, God is in control.

From the number of times your heart beats per minute to the number of grains of sand on the seashore, God is in control.

From the moment your eyelids flutter open in the morning to the time they droop closed at night, God is in control.

Everything that occurs during your life happens because God allows it to happen. There is no such thing as luck or coincidence. Nothing just happens.

Today’s Bible reading says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, . . .he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.” God is in control of all things, including our lives and the events surrounding our lives. God has promised blessing to all who trust Him by allowing Him to exercise His control of their lives.

We can choose to try to take control of our lives away from God, but we will suffer for our arrogance, self-centeredness, and lack of trust. Wrenching control for our lives out of God’s hands will force us to face all of life’s unknowns alone, with our own limited resources.

You don’t have to be afraid of the unknown. You don’t have to fear chance or fate. You don’t have to cross your fingers or wish upon a star.

Someone is watching out for your best interests. Someone is planning every tiny detail of your future. That someone is God.

God is in control of all things…allow Him to be in control of your life, too.

“But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” Psalm 33:18

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m so glad that you are in control of even the little details of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
