Yes, You Can Forgive Other People!

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:15

Would you like God to forgive you for all of the sins – wrongs – that you have ever committed? Would you like him to make you clean and new inside so that you can have a

fresh start?

God wants to do that. God will do that. But, in order for God to forgive you, you must forgive anyone who has wronged you. That’s what Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:15, “But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” You see, refusing to forgive someone is a sin. If we tell God that we know that we’ve sinned – wronged him and others (that includes refusing to forgive someone) – and that we are sorry for all of our sins (including having refused to forgive someone), he will forgive all of our sins (including our stubborn refusal to forgive someone).

You don’t think that you can forgive the person who hurt you so badly?

You don’t have to do it by yourself. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” God himself will give you the strength of character that you need to forgive even the most unforgivable person.

Has someone hurt you? Please forgive him or her so you can be forgiven for the hurts you have caused others.

“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to forgive those people who have hurt me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
