Countless Stars

Bible Reading: Job 11:7

In today’s Bible reading Jophar, Job’s friend asked him, “Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?”

Of course, Job couldn’t do these things.

How about you? Can you count the stars? Can you count the hairs on your head? Can you count the grains of sand on the seashore?

Of course, those things are beyond measuring; we can’t begin to understand how many of them there are. We can’t ask anyone how many there are. We can’t look it up in a book or watch a video that will tell us how many stars, hairs, or grains of sand there are. There are some things for which we simply don’t have or can’t find the answers.

God is beyond measure or understanding, too. He is too wonderful, too unique for us to totally understand. However, God wants us to get to know him so God describes himself, his Son, his Spirit, and his home in a variety of ways so that we can get a glimpse of what he is like. He had those glimpses written down for us to read.

Would you like to get to know more about God?

Read the Word that God himself had written to tell us about him. Read the Bible.

“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD.” Isaiah 55:8

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are awe-inspiring! I want to learn all about You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
