Sometimes God Seems Far Away

Bible Reading: Psalm 139:7-12

Can you touch the air?

No, but it is right there, wrapped all around you like a security blanket, comforting you, giving you the strength you need to live, and protecting you from the lifeless environment of space.

Can you touch the light of the sun?

No, but it right there, giving you warmth and lighting your way. Even at night you can see its light reflected on the moon and stars, keeping you and your environment at the right temperature.

Can you touch God?

No, but like the air God surrounds you with his blanket of comfort, strength, and protection.

Psalm 139:7 & 8 say, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” There is no place we can go where God can’t go with us. Wherever we are, there He is. Like the sun God gives you unending warmth (love) and light (guidance). No matter where you are, God will never leave you.

“Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for keeping me safe in Your presence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
