Frogs seem to “pop up” (pun intended) in the Bible.
Frogs were created by God along with everything else in the universe (Genesis 1).
Frogs were one of the plagues that God sent on Egypt (Exodus 7:25-8:13).
In Revelation 16:13, John wrote, “Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.” I’m no expert on end times prophecy, but I don’t like the sound of these evil frogs.
The word “FROG” has also been used as an acronym in the Christians community. F.R.O.G. stand for “Fully Rely On God.”
I drew an adorable little frog to illustrate this acronym:
Then, since I think frogs are so cute, I adapted him to create the hanging frog above. This “Hang-in There” frog is a reminder of the truth found in 1 Corinthians 4:17 & 18 which says, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
I don’t know about you, but the past week was a lo-o-o-ong week for me. At time like that, hanging-in isn’t easy. Thank God I don’t have to do it alone! And neither do you. When times are tough, re-read 1 Corinthians 4:17 & 18. Take a look at my “Hang-in There” frog. Remind yourself that God is with you during those difficult or challenging days and that those days won’t last forever. One day, not that far in the future, we will be with the Lord in heaven and our troubles will be over. Praise the Lord!
