No Other Way

Bible Reading: Romans 6:23

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Will God really punish all sin? Even “little” sins? If God looked the other way at even one “little” sin, would He be treating everyone justly and fairly?

That’s what today’s Bible reading says.

God can’t excuse even one sin or He shows himself not to be the perfect, holy, just God and Judge that He says He is. God can’t be around sin. God can’t tolerate sin. God has to punish all sin – even yours.

God doesn’t want to punish you, however. God sent Jesus to earth to be punished in your place. Jesus’ death on the cross was the punishment that you – and I – deserve for our sins, even the “little” ones.

God won’t and can’t look the other way for you. You have to move away from your sin and move toward God and ask his forgiveness if you desire eternal life. You have to accept the sacrifice of Jesus’ life for yours. There is no other way.

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.” John 3:36

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m really sorry even for my “little” sins. Forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
