confused, broken-hearted Jim tried to understand his father’s lame excuses for having abandoned his son. Jim was hurt that his father hadn’t been there when he was a boy and needed a father. Jim recognized a father’s role as protector and provider for his family.
Thankfully, our Heavenly Father is also our Everlasting Father, which is exactly how Isaiah 9:6 describes Him: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
While human parents, mothers and fathers alike, are imperfect and may let us down or even abandon us, our Everlasting Father has given us an eternal guarantee that he will always be there for us. He will never let us down. He will never, never abandon us.
Our Everlasting Father, the God of heaven and earth, wants to be with you. He wants to be there for you. Won’t you let Him be a part of your life starting right now?
Our Everlasting Father, the God of heaven and earth, wants to be with you. He wants to be there for you. Won’t you let Him be a part of your life starting right now? You and I need our Everlasting Father. Let’s praise and thank God that He, our Everlasting Father is always there for us!
