Digi-Journal: Sufficient in Christ

As I've written before, 2016 is the year where I am exploring Christ's sufficiency and how that relates to me. I've delved into many aspects of Christ's sufficiency already this year, finding that Jesus Christ, God, Himself is:

Sufficiently good.

Sufficiently wise.

Sufficiently powerful.

Sufficiently glorious.

Sufficiently genuine.

Sufficiently comforting.

Sufficiently brave.

Sufficiently self-controlled.

Sufficient to guard my life and soul.

Sufficient to overcome all of my fear.

Sufficient to satisfy my every need.

Sufficient to strengthen.

Sufficient to lead and guide.

Sufficient to refresh my soul.

Sufficient to save.

Sufficient to protect.

A sufficient source of hope.

A sufficient friend.

A sufficient advocate.

A sufficient anchor for my soul.

This week, reading 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, I was reminded that not only is Jesus Christ sufficient, but, because I claim Him as the Lord and Savior of my life, I am sufficient. Not because of who I am or anything that I've done, but because Jesus gives me His sufficiency.

2 Corinthians 3:4-6 says, "Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

Praise God! I claim Christ's sufficiency as my own!

Have you given control of your life to Jesus by asking for forgiveness for your sins and accepting His death on the cross as the punishment for those sins? If so, Christ's sufficiency belongs to you, too! I pray that you will claim it and will begin living as the sufficient child of God that God wants you to be!

To illustrate the truth that I am sufficient in Christ, I drew the pudgie, Charlie Brown-like rendition of myself wearing a T-shirt with the slogan "I Am Sufficient in Christ" on the front. The digital version is pictured above and a photo showing how it looks in my Bible is below.
