I’m active in several Bible journaling groups on Facebook. In these groups, we share our artwork and insights into God’s word.
In one group, each participant is encouraged to select a word to be their “theme” for the coming year. I chose “sufficient.”
Why?
I want to spend 2016 focused on intensifying my personal and corporate worship experience. I want to adore the Lord Jesus Christ with every fiber of my being.
However, there are times when my faults, failings, and inadequacy get in the way. At these times, I need to be reminded that when I am imperfect, Christ is more than perfect. Where I fail, Christ can succeed. When I am inadequate, Christ is more than adequate.
The scripture that summarizes my plea with God to fill me and use me, faults, failings, inadequacy and all, in 2016 is found in Psalm 138:3. In the English Standard Version (ESV) this verse reads: “On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.”
I would like to encourage you to take steps to enhance your worship experience.
I would also like to encourage you to choose your own theme word and verse, asking God to guide you.
One last item. Feel free to print my “Adore Hands” and acrostic poem as reminder of our pledge to invest maximum effort in worshiping and adoring the Lord Jesus Christ privately and corporately.
To God be the glory now and forever! Amen!
