A Letter from Jesus

Bible Reading: Hebrews 4:7

Imagine, if Jesus were to write you a letter. Perhaps it would read something like this:

Dear Friend,

I know that you are hurting. My heart aches for you. I’m sure you are afraid that you’ve let Father and me down, that you’ve broken his heart and mine, too.

Please come home. I forgive you for everything. Father forgives you as well. We both love you and want you to be with us.

I understand how hard it is to admit that you’ve done things that Father disapproves of, but we want you back, no questions asked. I have paid the “fine” for all of your crimes and misdeeds. There is no punishment left for you to take. All that is waiting for you at home is a warm welcome full of love and acceptance. Don’t keep Father waiting any longer. His arms ache to hold you close. Drop whatever you are doing and hurry home.

Please, please...come home!

Love, Jesus

Hebrews 4:7 says, “Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.’” Jesus probably won’t write you a letter, but He is speaking to you. Please listen to Him!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5 & 6

Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive me. I want to listen to You and obey You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
