Changed Heart

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 17:9-10

Jeremiah 17:9 describes the human heart and mind without Jesus Christ. This verse says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?"

Without Jesus, the human heart and mind are filled with foolishness and sin. It is selfish. It seeks to hurt others. It is without faith and hope.

After we welcome Jesus into our lives by admitting our awfulness and asking His forgiveness, our heart and mind change. We begin to become wise. We start to hate sin and want to avoid it. We begin thinking about others and how to help them. We trust God to lead us, teach us, and help us. We have hope of a better life here on earth and for eternal life in heaven.

How does a person’s heart change so dramatically? When a person accepts Jesus, the person gives up living to serve himself and allows Jesus live through him.

Have you given your heart and mind to Jesus? I hope so.

"Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:9 & 10

Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive me. Change my heart and mind so I can live to please You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
