Bible Reading: Psalm 94:12
What do you consider to be the characteristics of the perfect teacher?
Here are a few of the things that come to my mind when I think about the perfect teacher:
* The perfect teacher always explains things clearly.
* The perfect teacher is always patient when you don’t understand something.
* The perfect teacher always knows every answer to every question that you have.
* The perfect teacher never gets irritated when you don’t know an answer.
* The perfect teacher always forgives you when you forget your homework.
* The perfect teacher is always eager to give you extra help when you just don’t get it.
* The perfect teacher never gets upset when you don’t know the answer.
* The perfect teacher is always willing to give you a little more time to finish an assignment.
* The perfect teacher is always available whenever you need assistance.
Do you know of any teachers that possess every one of those characteristics?
There is only one teacher that fits the bill perfectly – God. God possesses every one of those traits. He is all knowing, perfectly patient, and always available. God is always willing to give you all the information and help you need to learn the lessons he is teaching you. God will repeat the lesson over and over until He is sure that you understand. God will never give up on you. He will always forgive your failings and will even help you start your “assignments” over again.
Psalm 94:12 says, “Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law.” Let God be your teacher. When you do, you will be blessed.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8
Prayer: God, thank You for being the perfect teacher. Help me to be the best student that I can be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
