Bible Reading: Job 1:1-5
Parents love their children. Children may disobey, argue, misbehave, lie, whine, pout, fuss, and act selfishly, but parents still love them.
Job 1:1-5 tells us about Job going to God on behalf of his children. Verse 5 says, “When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, ‘Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.’ This was Job's regular custom.”
As far as Job knew, his children had been good, but, just in case they had accidentally done something wrong, Job offered the sacrifices necessary for their forgiveness.
Why? Job, a devoted father loved his children – even if they had done something wrong.
As our Heavenly Father, God loves us just as devotedly – probably more so – than Job love his children. God loves us more than our earthly parents love us. That should make you feel special.
I hope you will accept God’s love by asking God to forgive you sins and giving Jesus control of your live. After you do that, I hope you will share God’s love with other people by telling them about Jesus and the things He has done for you.
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great love. Help me to share it with everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Tell me about your favorite memory that shows your parents' love for you or your love for your child.
