Poetry & Prose: I Am Not the Same

During Student Life Camp one year, the musical group Unhindered led our worship time. Because of my hearing deficit, it is always a challenge for me to learn new songs. It is useful for the song I want to

learn to be repeated over and over and for the lyrics to be printed on paper or displayed onscreen. Both of these things were available at camp. As a result, I was able to learn to enjoy a couple of new songs, one of which is “I Am Not the Same” by Unhindered. I want to share the lyrics of this song with you in this post. Here they are:

"You restore the wasted the years

You build the broken walls

Your love replaces fear

Oh, your mercy makes us whole

Adopted, healed, and lifted

Chorus: I am not the same I'm a new creation

I am not the same anymore

I am not ashamed, I will not be shaken

I am not the same anymore, anymore

(I'm not the same, I'm not the same Lord)

I bow before your cross this broken life made new

So amazed at all you are, Lord

And who I am in you

Adopted, healed, and lifted

Forgiven, found, and rescued

Chorus

You have overcome it is finished it is done

Now my heart is finally free

Every chain undone by the power of the son

Risen savior, reigning king,

(Forevermore, forevermore, oh you reign forevermore, oh)

Chorus

Every chain undone by the power of the son, I am notice same anymore (2x)"

I love the truth in this song. It truly awesome to be reminded that, with Jesus Christ in my heart and soul and life, I am changed. I'm not the same person that I was before Jesus. I'm better and getting better everyday, not because of anything I've done, but because Jesus changed me! Praise God!

I hope this song blesses you as much as it has blessed me!
