Bible Reading: Daniel 2:1-24
Life isn’t always easy for a person chosen to be God’s voice. Take Daniel, for example. While God had chosen Daniel to be His voice, God also allowed Daniel to be taken captive, imprisoned, forced to
work for various kings in Babylon, and thrown in to a den of lions.
Through all of this, Daniel trusted God. He understood that God had a plan. God’s plan for Daniel included using Daniel to be God’s voice to both the people living around Daniel and to all people through the ages until the end of time.
While faithfully speaking God’s words, Daniel had an impact on his friends, other prisoners, prison guards, King Nebuchadnezzar, King Darius, and even the wise men and advisors of the kings.
Daniel’s influence as God’s voice to the people around him led to changed lives. It also brought great honor and glory to God.
Daniel knew that these lives weren’t changed because of him. They were changed because of God and the power and authority of God’s word. In Daniel 2:23 Daniel said, “I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.” Daniel was passionate and served as God’s voice with his whole heart.
Daniel’s influence as God’s voice still impacts us today. In chapters 2 and 7 of Daniel, Daniel spoke God’s message about events to come at the end of the world, events that will set up the final days of earth, as we know it, and usher in Christ’s return and the kingdom of God.
Daniel had a powerful message. He had great faith in God. That power and faith aren’t limited to Daniel or any other Old Testament “Great.” We, too, can have that power and faith, if we seek God, His kingdom, and serve Him faithfully as His voice to the world.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23 & 24
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the power and faith to serve as Your voice as Daniel did. I want to impact lives for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
