God's Voice (1) Introduction

Bible Reading: Psalm 29

Psalm 29:4 describes God’s voice this way: “The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.” God’s voice, like everything about God, is amazing. It is unique. It is worth listening

to.

God’s voice can take many forms. In 1 Kings 19:12 it was a gentle whisper. Sometimes it sounds like thunder or flashes like lightning. God’s voice can heal or destroy. It can comfort or cause dread fear in a heart. God’s voice can be soft and gentle or it can be strong and intimidating.

Sometimes, God speaks directly to our ears and hearts.

Many times, God uses human beings to be His voice.

For the next 14 days, we will look at some of the many people God has chosen at various times to be His voice. Let’s learn from their example so that God will be able to use each of us to be His voice in our homes, our communities, and our world.

“The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, ‘Glory!’” Psalm 29:9

Prayer: Lord God, use me to be Your voice in my home, my community, and my world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
