The Only Miracle

Bible Reading: Luke 23:26-43

Jesus had done many, many miracles during the three years of his earthly ministry. He had cured diseases, healed illnesses, given hearing to the deaf and sight to the blind, and raised the dead to life.

Yet, this wasn’t enough proof for many people. While Jesus hung dying on the cross the crowd cried out, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One” (Luke 23:35). The crowd wanted to see Jesus do a miracle for Himself in their presence.

The people of Jerusalem and the surrounding regions had ample opportunities to witness Jesus’ miracles. They had ample time to recognize who Jesus was and how He had the power and authority to do the amazing things that He did, things that were impossible for any normal human.

Thus, this crowd wouldn’t get the kind of miracle they begged for…and when Jesus did do His next miracle – when Jesus raised Himself from the dead – they missed it. The moment of that miracle was witnessed by no one, though hundreds of Jesus faithful followers saw Him after He had arisen.

Jesus wants to work a miracle in your life. He wants to free you from the tyranny of sin and Satan.

Please, let Jesus work this miracle in your life! Ask Him to forgive your sin and become your Lord and Savior. Don’t miss the most important miracle in your life!

“[God] has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” 2 Timothy 1:9 & 10

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the miracle of salvation that Jesus has worked in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
