Wednesday at the Well: The Romans Road

Today’s post is a tribute to my Grandma Zimmerman, who passed away a few weeks ago.

It was Grandma Z who invited me to the revival service where I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ when I was 12-years-old.

The pastor’s message during Grandma’s funeral came from notes that Grandma had made in the back of her Bible. These notes were simply the scriptures that make up what is commonly known as “The Romans Road.”

There are several variations of this guide to salvation. I want to share one of them with you.

“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one.’” – Romans 3:10

“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:6-8

“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.” – Romans 5:12

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

Romans 10:9-11

“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’” – Romans 10:9-11

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Romans 10:13

If you have never admitted your failure to God and given Jesus
