Bible Reading: Galatians 6:9 & 2 Corinthians 4:1
Do you sometimes feel like you don’t have enough opportunities to tell people about Jesus?
Does it feel like you are telling everyone you know about Jesus but no one is responding?
Don’t give up! Don’t lose heart!
You are doing your job. God tells us that we are to plant the seed of the gospel (tell people about Jesus) then water those seeds (show God’s love to people, encourage them to accept Jesus into their lives, and pray for them). That is where our job ends.
It is the job of the Holy Spirit to bring the harvest (convict the hearts of those people so they will ask for forgiveness and accept Jesus’ salvation).
In Galatians 6:9 God assures us, promises us, absolutely that there will be a harvest if we are faithful in doing the ministry that He has given us. This verse says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” If we are faithfully tell people about Jesus, people will be saved. Lives will be changed. It may take time, but the harvest will come.
Don't lose heart! Do your part and tell people about Jesus. When you do, God will do the rest. Remember, seeds take time to grow.
2 Corinthians 4:1 (NIV)
“Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:1 & 2
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to faithfully sow and water the seeds of the gospel and trust You to bring the harvest. In Jesus' name. Amen.
