Preparing Your Answers

Bible Reading: 1 Peter 3:13-22

Remember when you had to take a test in school? You spent the day or two before the test studying, rereading notes, and reviewing what you’d learned. Why? So you could prepare your

answers. You wanted to be ready to give the right answers to every question.

As Christians, we should also be prepared to give answers about our faith in Jesus as verse 15a of 1 Peter tells us saying, “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” We can't give answers that we don't know. We must study and memorize the Bible so we will know the answers to the questions that friends and family ask. That way we will know the answers and be able to give them when needed, even if no Bible is handy.

I hope you are busy preparing your answers to the questions that people may ask you about your faith in Jesus.

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be prepared to explain why I have faith in Jesus. In Jesus' name. Amen.
