In addition to writing this blog, I write for Deaf Missions.
DM is an organization that ministers to deaf and hard of hearing people around the world. They provide a number of useful Bible study tools that are available to the deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people alike. For example:
* ASL BIble - There are a number of books that are ready for viewing while translation work continues on others.
* Deaf Missions Training Center, which equips deaf people for ministry.
* Extension Program, which provides students with practical skills for deaf ministry.
* Bible: ASL Seminars, which teach churches how to use the ASL Bible in ministry.
* Christian Children videos in ASL.
* A variety of other Bible-related resources found in the Deaf Missions Store.
Then there is DM’s “Daily Devotions for the Deaf,” which is printed in English and recorded in American Sign Language (ASL) and distributed in 100+ countries around the world. (I was thrilled to learn that school children in Africa read these materials as a part of the school lessons!) Both versions of “Daily Devotions for the Deaf are available by snail mail, online (www.deafmissions.com), in PDF ebook form, via the iOS & Android app stores, or you can subscribe to their podcast.
If you are looking for a worthwhile, God-honoring cause to support financially, DM is a great choice!
Whether you are able to give financially or not, please keep Deaf Missions, it’s staff and ministries, and the people DM serves in your prayers!
